I have lived with horses most of life. I have worked with horses for 25 years. I chose special needs humans for my bareback therapeutic riding program back in 2001, first come first served. Then came the others. Ex-prisoners, executives, engineers, ex-addicts, water protectors, diseased and dying clients, minorities, inner city, newly engaged couples, and the list goes on. Tears of joy overcame tears of fear. In partnering with 1,200 lbs. of happy, healthy horse energy, a gift is offered. The limbic system of the horse, fight or flight, merges with the person.
